The French based automaker Renault has officially unveiled the new Clio Renaultsport R3T rally race car.
Renault’s newest creation in terms of motorsport is named the Renaultsport Clio R3T and it has been officially unveiled recently. The model in question has apparently received features like the PFC brakes, the Sachs shock absorbers and the Cosworth electronics, along with a modified version of the 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine.
“With the Clio Renaultsport R3T, our aim has been to come up with a high-performance, reliable vehicle adaptable to every type of surface, all for an operating cost below that of the product it replaces. Initial tests have been promising and a lengthy development campaign has been scheduled in the lead-up to the kit’s approval”, said Arnaud Boulanger, the Renault Sport Technologies Motorsports director.
The new Renault Clio Renaultsport R3T is powered, just like we said before, by a modified 1.6 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. Specifications haven’t been released by the company for obvious reasons but we do know that the unit is mated to a Sadev 6-speed sequential transmission, which can also be operated through the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The Renault Clio Renaultsport R3T is believed to get its approval in the second half of next year. More details on it remain unknown for the moment.
