Renault has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, a limited edition of the Megane Estate RS, named the Estate GT 220 Edition.
The Renaultsport Megane Estate GT 220 Edition is basically a “hot hatch”, a powerful limited version of the Megane Estate. According to the French based automaker, the Renaultsport Megane Estate GT 220 Edition will be offered for sale in 12 markets across the globe, with France being the first one to see the model in the company’s showrooms.
“Megane Estate GT 220 is concrete evidence that a car can be practical yet still pack genuine performance. It has all the qualities expected of a sporty car while at the same time permitting everyday driving pleasure”, said the product manager at Renault Sport, Jean-Maxime Boulanger.
The Megane Estate GT 220 Edition is powered by a de-tuned version of the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine found under the hood of the Renault Megane RS, which is now producing a total output of 220 PS (217 HP) and it has a peak torque of 340 Nm. The unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which is helping the model burn 7.3 L of fuel every 100 km (38.7 mpg UK / 32.2 mpg US). No performance figures have been released yet.
