With an all-new generation of the C Class bestseller in dealer showrooms, Mercedes-Benz now needs to concentrate on the sporty C Class Coupe, which we have imagined in our artist rendering.
The model should debut as early as next spring in Geneva, but there are also rumors that the development process will postpone the official unveil until 2016. Whatever the case, we’re expecting the design of the two-door model to fall in line with its sedan sibling, featuring an evolutionary styling that further emphasizes the dynamic flow of the latest C-Class generation. The exterior will closely mirror that of the sedan sibling, while the interior should bring no surprises, being taken for granted.
Just like the new generation C-Class sedan, the Coupe should also grow a bit, boasting a longer – by 76 mm – wheelbase. That should bring additional legroom for the backseat passengers and possibly a bigger boot.
Engine options have not been confirmed, but we can expect them to be carryovers from the sedan: a 1.6-litre four-cylinder with 154 hp, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 184, 211 and 252 hp, a 3.0-litre V6 with 333 hp and a 4.0-litre V8 with 462 hp. There should also be available some diesel options, a hybrid or two and probably a C63 AMG Black Series successor.
