Rendered Hyundai i30 wagon should be pretty close to reality image

Station wagons haven’t succumbed to the influx of crossovers and SUVs, apparently – and they’re actually getting a new lease of life as cool, family-oriented leisure vehicles.

There are numerous examples – just look at how fashionable are the Megane Estate or the Volvo V90. We’re pretty sure Hyundai is hoping to achieve the same status with its new generation i30, which has so far been presented in five-door hatchback body style. So naturally the wagon is next, with the digital artists here looking to give us a peek in advance at the possible design. The model gets some of the development and design worked out in Germany – the land of the 3 Series Touring and Skoda Octavia Combi.

Delivering a rendering of the upcoming i30 Wagon wasn’t actually all that hard, most likely – the front remains the same and you only have to rework the rear with a larger trunk and new lateral glass as well as elongated roof. The only thing is that it’s not really exciting – much in the likes of how serious the VW Golf Variant is today. We do know for sure it will have the same powertrains as the hatch – including 1-liter turbo engine and the bread and butter, 1.6-liter diesel.
