A new rendering with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz pickup truck has hit the web recently.
The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed its plans to offer a pickup truck, for the first time in its history, over the next few years. This will be part of a plan which will take the 3-pointed star to yet another segment and after introducing the new A-Class generation, for the C-segment for hatchback, along with the compact CLA four-door coupe and the GLA compact crossover, time has come for the carmaker to plan a pickup truck, for the very first time in its existence.
The image posted above is nothing more than a simple rendering, which has been put together by Theophilus Chin, but considering the fact that the new GLE (ML) has been unveiled recently, it’s not that hard to imagine a pickup truck with the premium SUV in mind. Rumor has it that the upcoming Mercedes-Benz pickup truck will be based on the Nissan Navara.
The report has been published a few weeks back and it is telling us that the premium model will be riding on the same platform as the Navara, but probably in the future generation of the model. This will be aimed towards markets such as Latin America, South Africa, Australia and even Europe and it is believed to be introduced by 2020. Additional details on it are limited for the moment but will probably be announced in a few years through a concept version which will be offering a preview of it.
