Rendering sheds two doors out of the new Mercedes GLE Coupe image

Courtesy to the latest digital reinterpretation coming from X-Tomi Design, the brand new BMW X6 competitor, the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe has given up its rear doors to become a true coupe.

Naturally, the independent artist that comes from Hungary has opted to use the GLE 450 AMG Coupe guise to turn the flagship “coupe crossover” into a SUV that has a shooting break allure – giving up in the process the rear doors and having now an even more pronounced slope for the roofline. In that eternal battle between Mercedes and BMW it might not be a very bad idea if the Mercedes designers decided to switch to a three-door design, naturally reserving the new version for the range-topping GLE 450 AMG Coupe and upcoming GLE 63 AMG.

In case you forgot, the very new GLE 450 AMG Coupe comes equipped under the bonnet with a twin-turbo V6 3.0-liter engine that churns out 367 HP (270 kW) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft). It will be available for the public to see during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit starting in January. The range-topping GLE 63 AMG should come out later on in 2015, together with the twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter that befits now the AMG GT or the equally fresh C63 AMG. .
