BMW is the best automotive company to work for, according to The World’s Most Attractive Employers 2012 report.
Employer branding firm Universum asked tens of thousands of business students from the 12 largest economies in the world to identify where they would like most to be hired out of school. BMW ranked 13th, (the last place), but it was the only automobile manufacturer that made it on the list.
According to Universum, BMW is a great company for business professionals, having been a top 15 desired employer in each of the past three years. The company is an even better workplace for aspiring engineers, as BMW is the only non-tech company rated by Universum as one of the top-five desired workplaces for engineers.
According to BrandZ, BMW is the most valuable car brand in the world. The company has also been extremely successful in recent months: unit sales in the third quarter of 2012 were up 9 percent year-over-year, leading to a growth of 16 percent in net profit compared to the year before.
For the fourth straight year, Google has been chosen student’s No. 1 company, followed by KPMG and Procter & Gamble. Microsoft ranked 4th, followed by Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, JPMorgan Chase, The Coca-Cola Company and Goldman Sachs. Apple, L’Oreal and BMW ranked outside the top 10.
