The exclusive French marquee has presented itself with the beautiful and stylish 16 C Galibier concept about seven years ago and ever since the rumor mill has been chewing on the rumors of Bugatti turning it into the real deal.
The prospects of fans having to look forward to a Bugatti limousine appear higher than ever before now as British media has interviewed company chief Wolfgang Dürheimer who tipped them about the model being seriously under advisement – alongside three other ‘strategic ideas.’ If the business model gets a pass, the Galibier in its production form would use a reworked variant of the MSB platform from Porsche that was used for the second-generation Panamera and will also be deployed in upcoming Bentley models. If that happens it means the Galibier will feature the same layout as the concept – front engine, which is seriously different from the Chiron’s mid-engined form.
If the top managers at Bugatti don’t give the green light to the Galibier they could instead consider a super-exclusive SUV that would go head to head with the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The other ideas considered include a smaller supercar or a completely electric 6-meter spiritual successor to the infamous 6.4-meter Bugatti Royale.
