Although the Stuttgart-based automaker has made no more Maybach vehicles they will reportedly give up on the name as well, as the long wheelbase version of the S Class could also sport the Maybach moniker.
The luxury cars of the Maybach brand of the Daimler Group are history – but the name lingers on, or at least that is what rumor says. According to company sources cited by the German auto magazine “Auto Motor und Sport”, the long version of the S-Class will receive the additional title of Maybach.
In November 2014, the 5.50 meter long XL version of the Mercedes flagship will be presented and the report says Mercedes will build the car at the factory in Sindelfingen, where at the end of 2012 Maybach has been closed.
