According to the latest rumor off the mill concerning the hot hatch of the moment – Ford’s Focus RS – the high demand for the model has led to delays in the chain of deliveries.
According to the Blue Oval company, the eager customers shouldn’t worry too much because the delays well not lead to many interruptions. The 350+-horsepower Ford Focus RS has become the star of the hot hatch segment and it appears the company has somehow underestimated the model’s appeal. It appears some customers around the world have been informed of possible delays as the Saarlouis plant in Germany is struggling to keep up with demand. It appears 220 future owners in North America won’t be rocking a 2016 Ford Focus RS, with the company postponing the delivery and gifting them the 2017 model year in return. “Customers with changed 2017 Focus RS orders will be prioritized and experience almost no delay in delivery of their vehicle,” commented a Ford official.
After the global interest for the company’s hot hatch was higher than expected, the planned summer shutdown for scheduled maintenance at the Saarlouis assembly facility has also interfered as the workers will only be back on the production lines starting August 15. The Focus RS was so eagerly awaited by fans the UK model alone snatched 1,500 orders even before pricing or the release date were announced. On the other hand, some lucky owners – such as Friends star Matt LeBlanc – have already started taking home the new Focus RS.
