Report – Lamborghini believes that new SUV could double company deliveries by 2019 image

There hasn’t been too much commotion on the rumor mill as of late surrounding the upcoming Lamborghini Urus SUV, but it now appears the company is pretty confident the model will have a tremendous impact.

According to CEO Stefano Domenicali, the Urus – which is expected to come out with a hefty $200,000 price tag – could become a ‘big game-changer.’ The Sant’Agata Bolognese producer will look to deliver at least 3,500 examples per year and will thus become adamant to the company’s desire to more than double its annual sales to more than 7,000 units by 2019. For example, last year Lamborghini sold a total of 3,245 units. The manager stated that interest is very high in the United States, as well as other markets where fans are eagerly awaiting for LM002’s spiritual successor – and the company is preparing by expanding its dealer network from 132 to 160 showrooms.

The Urus concept previewed this Italian- produced Lamborghini high-riding model which should reach its intended markets in 2018 in a bid to become the quickest and most powerful SUV in existence – in the words of Lamborghini R&D boss, Maurizio Reggiani. Under the hood sits Audi’s biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, which is going to feature modifications designed specifically for the SUV – and we’re expecting it to go above the Bentley Bentayga 00 horsepower (447 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton-meters).
