Report – Mercedes-AMG E63 engine could develop up to 612 hp image

According to the most recent rumors flying around the mill there are new and juicy details to be shared concerning the highly anticipated Mercedes-AMG E63, which have been revealed in a purportedly leaked document.

It appears the model’s performance specification details have been spilled via this alleged document leak and according to pictures seen on a German forum the E63 will be packing a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine that will deliver 571 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque in the regular guise. The higher-performance E 63 S is going to reward the buyer with even more – a full upgrade to 612 hp and 626 pound-feet of torque. The Mercedes-AMG E63 will reward the owner with a 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) sprint of no more than 3.7 seconds – top speed being tipped at the regular electronically-governed 155 mph level. Moving up to the E63 S will also increase the performance with the run to 62 mph now taking place in just 3.5 seconds – though maximum speed will again be capped to 155 mph. We’re also expecting the automaker to deliver a package that would cap the top speed at the higher 174 mph (280 km/h) mark.

No matter the version choice, the Mercedes E63 will be mated to a nine-speed AMG SpeedShift transmission that sends power to the rear axle – the all wheel drive version might also be on tow but there’s no official word just yet. By the way, while the new E63 will pack much more grunt compared to the outgoing version, it will also be less fuel thirsty, with the document claiming a fuel return of around 27.3 miles per gallon.
