According to a recent report, at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany there is a chance we will see a concept of the future Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
There are already lots of spy shots of the S-Class Coupe testing, a model caught by the eager media in numerous occasions and now we heard Mercedes-Benz is about to introduce a preview concept at IAA in less than two weeks.
A similar report showed up back in June and referred to a Frankfurt Motor Show unveiling of a near-production concept. Interestingly, photographers were able to take a shot of the concept’s key fob, which had the “CL 217” lettering, indicating Mercedes-Benz might stick to the CL-Class moniker.
The production version is expected to come in January at the 2014 NAIAS in Detroit, with orders opening right then, while first deliveries will occur in March. Engine lineup will likely be carried over from the 2014 S-Class so there will be a V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo with 333 HP (245 kW), a V8 4.7-liter rated at 455 HP (335 kW) and a twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter outputting 593 HP (436 kW).
