Apparently the Italian exotic supercar manufacturer has confirmed its open top version of the Huayra will be introduced online a few days ahead of the Californian event, which will then have the model in the metal for a world premiere.
Pagani is keeping itself busy this year – the recently concluded Geneva Motor Show saw the automaker take the wraps off the limted edition Huayra BC – and now the exotic marquee is already prepping the next introduction. This one has been tipped in a report now confirmed by the company as being the introduction of the Roadster version of the Huayra model, taking place this August during the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California. The model is already in the final stages of development and it appears that 75 percent of the version’s production (which is reportedly of 100 units) has already been spoken for.
There aren’t many details to go with so early, but we do know the Huayra Roadster will inherently be heavier than the coupe version – which currently tips the scales at 2,976 pounds (1,350 kilograms). Additionally, the spectacular and exotic gullwing doors will have to be left behind in favor of conventional doors. The heart and soul – the feisty biturbo 6.0-liter V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG will still sport 730 horsepower (537 kilowatts) and 737 pound-feet (1,000 Newton meters) of torque. The performance figures of the coupe – 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 230 mph (370 km/h) will not be matched though due to the added heft.
