A future installment in the never-ending Fast and Furious saga could see the return of regretted actor Paul Walker’s role of Brian O’Conner – with the help of his brothers.
It’s been three years since the incredibly untimely death of Fast and Furious star Paul Walker, and with no end in sight for the popular franchise there are new reports suggesting his brothers, Caleb and Cody, could fill in his shoes in order to have Brian O’Conner back in upcoming films. They did it for portions of Furious 7 – with help from the graphics wizards – and the pair could again be present in future installments of the long running franchise. “We got to understand more about Paul, and what he was all about,” Caleb Walker said in an interview. “We had to share Paul with a lot of people, in a weird way. He was gone a lot, he was filming, so we missed him. Sometimes at the holidays he wasn’t always there, you know? He tried. We’d see him on set, we visited a few times, but to kind of get that closure, and understanding [of] Paul was really special.”
It appears the idea has been triggered by co-star Vin Diesel, who spoke with the two brothers in detail “I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back,” said Caleb. “He wanted [our] blessing.” Walker received his sendoff in the previous installment, but it appears Diesel thinks there’s more story for Walker to tell. The next installment in the series, Fast 8, will reach theaters everywhere around the world starting April 14th, 2017.
