The German automaker is looking towards transforming the Panamera model into a fully fledged family line, with the Panamera Sport Turismo pegged for a Paris Motor Show introduction this fall.
But more so, the second generation of the sedan will include even more body styles – and according to the latest rumor one of them will be a more luxurious long-wheelbase version of the standard sedan. The possibility is high on this one because it’s hinted by Panamera product director Dr. Gernot Dollner, who refrained from revealing too many details about the new version. He did mention the added wheelbase length will have a positive impact on the interior space and the fact that some markets – such as Australia – will not have the new version, though China is almost a certainty given the quirks of the world’s largest auto market.
As far as the Sport Turismo wagon version is considered, we don’t have to long too much for it because the Paris Motor Show starting early October will have it on display, confirmed Dollner. He also confirmed the moniker – coming from the Panamera Sport Turismo concept. The trio will most likely have the exact same powertrains as the regular sedan, including the new Turbo’s 4.0-liter V8 packing 542 horsepower (404 kilowatts) and 568 pound-feet (770 Newton-meters) of torque. There are numerous rumors surrounding the Panamera, including a flagship version with hybrid tech borrowed from the 918 Spyder and up to 700 hp under the hood.
