The legendary off-roader/leisure time vehicle is preparing to relinquish the flag to its successor – but Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is making sure the current one is going out with a bang, actually six bangs.
According to a recent report starting next month the Jeep Wrangler will become available with the Sport Freedom and Sahara Winter special editions. The first one will get all patriotic carrying the Freedom star hood and rear fender decals, along with exterior badging and an American flag decal on the left front fender. This limited edition, available at dealers until May 2017 will also get 18-inch Sahara wheels with a glossy granite crystal finish and standard taillight guards, a black fuel filter cap, and a rear heavy-duty cast differential cover. Jeep will seek to gain $30,690 (including shipping) for the two-door version and $34,590 for the four-door Unlimited.
The Wrangler Sahara Winter, available until February 2017, is getting a new set of LED headlights and fog lamps as well as a plethora of decals and badges. The hard top is optionally available in a different color, while there’s also remote start on versions with the automatic transmission, and off-road rock rails. It will cost $37,440 for the regular Wrangler and $41,240 for the four-door Wrangler Unlimited. Afterwards, four additional special editions will be coming next year. The others are as follows: Sport Big Bear (available from February until July); Sahara Chief (March until June); Sahara Smoky Mountain (March until July) and Rubicon Recon (February until September) as a replacement for the Rubicon Hard Rock.
