Rezvani Beast Alpha X Blackbird arrives as stealthy road fighter image

Anyone passionate about modern military aircraft will know the story of the SR-71 Blackbird – a spy plane that was known for its incredible speed – and it seems California’s Rezvani is looking to pay homage to this phenomenal work of engineering.

So, meet the new Beast Alpha X Blackbird – it’s a severely limited special edition of the Alpha, with a mere five examples programmed for production – in roadster form and with a kick off price of $225,000 apiece. And it seems there’s only four of them left out in the open, because MMA fighter Rampage Jackson has already reserved the first one. Rezvani premiered the Beast Alpha as a more “civilized” take on the Beast, packing a 2.5-liter supercharged four-cylinder good for 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts). But the Alpha X Blackbird has nothing to do with the stance, now pushing the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder through a Cosworth ECU and Carillo-sourced forged pistons, rods, cams, valve, and springs.

This tuning program now means there’s 700 hp (522 kW), linked to a six-speed manual or six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, delivering staggering times: 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in just 2.9 seconds, against the standard Beast Alpha which was “only” doing it in 3.5 seconds. The Blackbird also makes use of the optional Alpha carbon fiber body with a removable roof and Sidewinder forward-sliding doors. The X is a design package with lime green touches, a set of 18-inch wheels with a set of AP Racing brakes and optional carbon ceramic rotors. Weight is also of no concern here – the Blackbird tips the scales at a mere 2,100 pounds (952 kilograms).
