Rickie Fowler is the proud owner of a brand new Mercedes-AMG GT S as we have recently found out.
Famous people tend to go for “green” cars these days because they believe they are actually saving the environment but every once in a while, someone has to stand out and not give a #%^& about that. This is Rick Fowler’s case too as he is the proud owner of a brand new Mercedes-AMG GT S. The American professional golfer has chosen the German sports car as his newest ride and the image posted above has been shared by Mercedes-Benz USA recently.
The Mercedes-AMG GT is the carmaker’s answer to the Porsche 911 or the Jaguar F-Type, amongst others. The model is coming as a replacement of the old SLS but it is smaller, cheaper and less powerful. The AMG GT is being offered with the front mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout and it has been introduced last year. The model is coming in two versions, the AMG GT and the AMG GT S, with both of them carrying the 4.0 liter V8 engine under heir hoods, available in two outputs: 460 HP (340 kW) & 600 Nm (440 lb-ft) and 503 HP (375 kW) & 650 Nm (480 lb-ft). The AMG GT needs 4.0s to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill, being able to go up to 304 km/h (189 mph), while the AMG GT S can do it in 3.8s and it can reach 310 km/h (190 mph).
