The North American based automaker Chevrolet is planning to transform the new Corvette generation into a global model and it’s planning to introduce a right-hand drive version of the sports car. But if you’re living in the United Kingdom and you’re into the new Corvette, you will have to wait a couple of years until you will be able to order it.
“There is no plan to build a right-hand-drive version in the short term. In the long term it’s something we definitely want – to make this a more global car – but it won’t be for a couple of years “, as Tadge Juechter, the Corvette’s chief engineer, told Auto Express.
The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette will get a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine under its hood, with direct injection and CVVT (continuously variable valve timing), producing a total output of 450 BHP (336 kW) and 450 lb-ft of torque (609 Nm). The sports car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 4 seconds and return 26+ mpg (US) on the highway.
