Robert De Niro will play Enzo Ferrari in new film image

Famous Hollywood actor Robert De Niro has recently announced, during an interview with an Italian newspaper, that he will be playing Enzo Ferrari in an upcoming movie.

A new movie titled “Ferrari” will be released in theaters sometime in 2016 and it will be covering the life of the carmaker’s founder from 1940s to 1980s. The main role will be played by Robert De Niro and it seems that Clint Eastwood is interested in directing the film. The movie will be produced in Italy by Gianni Bozzacchi, the owner of Triworld Cinema, in collaboration with De Niro’s Tribeca Enterprises.

“For me it is an honor and a joy to tell the life of an extraordinary man who revolutionized the automotive world and across historical periods and different social, from fascism to democracy, from war to economic well-being”, said Robert De Niro to Il Messaggero.

Enzo Anselmo Ferrari has been born on the 18th of February 1898 and he was an Italian motor racing driver and entrepreneur. He was the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team and the Ferrari automobile marque. Enzo was born in Modena, Italy, and he was the son of a carpenter. He grew up with little education and at the age of 10, he seen Felice Nazzaro win the 1908 Circuit di Bologna, which inspired him to become a racing driver. He served in WW1 where he was assigned to the third Alpine Artilery division of the Italian army. The Ferrari company has been founded back in 1929, as Scuderia Ferrari.
