The British based automaker Rolls-Royce is planning to develop a Gran Turismo model, along with a new convertible, which should hit the market over the following years.
After pulling the wraps off the Ghost Wraith Coupe just a month ago, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere, the British based automaker is now being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with a rumor saying that Rolls-Royce is getting ready to develop two new models. According to the guys at Auto Bild, the first model to be developed under Rolls-Royce’s close watch will be a combination between a crossover and a hatchback, which should get the same recipe as the BMW 3-Series GT and the BMW 5-Series GT.
The company is even considering producing both versions, so the crossover might be based on the 2014 BMW X5 and the hatchback might be based on the next generation of the BMW 7-Series. The two models will get all-wheel drive and, if they get the green light, they might hit the market in 2016. Besides these, Rolls-Royce is also planning to develop a convertible based on the Wraith. The model will probably get a 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 engine under its hood, with 624 BHP (465 kW) and 799 Nm of torque (590 lb-ft). If this gets the green light, it’s expected to be launched in 2015.
