Rolls-Royce Ghost Coupe to hit the market in 2013 image

Rolls-Royce is planning to develop a coupe version of the Ghost, which might just become the fastest ever model produced by the company until now.

The British based automaker didn’t announce anything official on the Rolls-Royce Ghost Coupe until now but according to the guys at the model has started its tests and it will use the same technical platform as the regular Ghost, but it will hit the market with a coupe body. The journalists mentioned above are saying that the Rolls-Royce Ghost Coupe has all the chances of becoming the most powerful model within the lineup and this will be the company’s answer to other luxury vehicles like Bentley or Aston Martin, which keep launching powerful vehicles.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Coupe will is expected to be powered by a 6.6 liter V12 engine which will be modified from 530 HP to around 600 HP. The torque figure will also increase and all this power will be sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic ZF transmission, a layout similar to the Bentley Continental GT. The braking system of the Ghost Coupe will also be improved, along with the suspension and the top speed of the model will be electronically limited to 250 km/h. The total weight of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Coupe will be around 2,300 km, which is quite a lot for a sportier model but, then again, the Bentley Continental GT isn’t light either. The model is expected to be presented to the public next year at the Geneva Motor Show and it will enter production in mid-2013.
