The British based automaker Rolls-Royce is getting ready to develop its first ever SUV, which is believed to go on sale by 2017.
Rolls-Royce is getting ready to start its work on a completely new model, an SUV, which will be the company’s first attempt into this new segment. According to a recent report, the Rolls-Royce SUV is believed to go on sale by 2017, with the model becoming a luxury vehicle. If it will indeed catch the production line, than the Rolls-Royce SUV will be the work of Torsten Muller-Otvos, the company’s CEO, who has put the success of the Wraith Coupe behind him and needs a new challenge.
Torsten Muller-Otvos believes that there are a lot of customers out there who are wealthy and are in their 30s or even in their 20s, looking for a luxury SUV or for a Rolls-Royce product, but don’t necessarily want to buy a traditional limousine. This is where the upcoming product kicks in so its success seems already guaranteed. The Rolls-Royce SUV will share some components with the “traditional limousines” mentioned above and it can even get some BMW touches. More details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced probably over the following years.
