The brand new Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe has been recently caught on camera while it was being tested out on public roads.
Rolls-Royce is currently offering coupe and convertible versions of the Phantom but the recently unveiled Ghost Sedan, in the Wraith version, is now getting ready to receive a new body style, the Drophead (convertible). The model in question is scheduled to hit the market in 2015 and it will be aimed towards younger buyers, who never have considered heading towards a Rolls-Royce vehicle before.
The model in question will be coming with a folding soft top, just like the BMW 6-Series, whose platform is sharing, and it will get the same 6.6 liter V12 engine found on its brother, the Wraith Coupe. This is producing a total output of 624 HP and it has a peak torque of 800 Nm. The solid roof version can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds. The new Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe is expected to cost more than the 280,000 euros price tag of the current Wraith Coupe. The model may be making its world debut later on this year, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, in October.
