Romanian business man Ion Tiriac buys Ferrari LaFerrari

Famous Romanian business man and former tennis player Ion Tiriac has managed to obtain one of the only 499 units of the impressive Ferrari LaFerrari hybrid supercar.

Ion Tiriac is the first celebrity who we know was accepted by Ferrari for owning the brand new LaFerrari. The announcement has been made by the Romanian business man himself, who is a passionate car collector and has recently opened a “museum” with all his rides, which can be seen by the public. Tiriac said that in order to be eligible for the LaFerrari you had to buy a Ferrari supercar, or more, in the past year, and to have owned at least 10 Ferrari vehicles over the last few years.

The Ferrari LaFerrari is taking its power from an impressive 6.3 liter V12 engine, with 800 HP (588 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, helped by a 163 HP (120 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque electric motor. The company’s first ever hybrid supercar is producing a total output of 963 HP (708 kW), which is enough to help the model accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). The LaFerrari is rivaling the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
