The 2014 Saleen George Follmer Edition Mustang has been recently unveiled at Laguna Seca last weekend, part of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
Saleen has recently introduced the 2014 George Folmer Edition Mustang over the weekend, which is paying tribute to an important race driver in the 60s and 70s. George Follmer has managed to compete in NASCAR’s Winston Cup, in the F1 with the Shadow team in 1973 and in the Indianapolis 500. He was also a Can-Am champion.
“As a specialty manufacturer and [racecar] driver myself, it is the perfect alignment of passions that allowed us to complete an entire collection of vehicles during today’s event. We may actually be the only company that can offer this type of Automotive Collection all under one brand name”, said the president CEO of Saleen, Steve Saleen.
The Saleen George Follmer Edition Mustang is coming with a tri-color paint scheme inspired from the 1962 Boss 302 race car driven by Follmer, sitting on 19-inch alloy wheels. Power is being provided by a naturally aspirated V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 470 HP (350 kW), mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Deliveries will start this autumn and its starting price will be set at approximately 75,000 USD.
