Yes, Nissan will produce the powerful Juke R into a limited number. The vehicle will cost about $600,000! That’s roughly the equivalent of 30 base Juke Rs – or almost 7 GT-Rs.!
“The reaction we had to the car in Dubai was amazing – people were making offers for the original on the street,” says Nissan marketing product manager for the Juke, Gareth Dunsmore.
“With such a strong reaction, and with three genuine offers on the table, we decided we had to make the concept a reality.”
It’s a small crossover fitted with the big engine of the GTR; a 3.8 liter bi-turbo V6 developing around 550 hp. It was initially built based on the 2010 GTR divetrain with 480 hp, but the production versions get the 2012MY system.
Nissan will be taking orders in the coming four weeks before officially starting production. The first three owners will get their cars in late summer.
Nissan aims to draw attention from the success of Juke in Europe, where it sold over 100,000 units during its first year in the market. On the other hand, 27,500 units were sold in the United States.
