For its 10th anniversary, Toyota’s Scion brand has developed a special edition model, fitted with what is considered the smallest solar panel ever seen on a car.
Scion’s extensive range of limited edition models for its 10th anniversary is dubbed ‘Scion 10 Series’ and the automaker has already announced the pricing for them. Each model comes with what the company calls ‘Silver ignition’, which is a bluish-silver paintjob. The company unveiled the Scion 10 series this year at the New York International Auto Show, besides the mildly updated 2014 Scion tC coupe.
Scion has fitted the 10 Series with new state-of-the-art features, such as the electroluminescent dashboard panel which glows blue and fades away when the vehicle is started or turned off. But the coolest gadget is an illuminated solar-powered shift knob, for which the automaker struggled to fit the tiniest solar panel into the gear knob only to make it glow a blue-colored light.
