Seat considering Leon Cupra R image

The Spanish based automaker Seat is said to consider a high performance version of the Leon Cupra, which might be named the Leon Cupra R.

The new generation of the Seat Leon Cupra has been unveiled not that long ago but with models like the Ford Focus ST, which is said to give birth to a new Ford Focus RS, the carmaker couldn’t stay away from the competition so a more powerful version of the hot hatch has been planned. The model in question will probably be named the Seat Leon Cupra R and it will get some interesting updates, like the more aggressive body kit, four-tailpipe exhaust system, sport tuned suspension and some other tweaks.

Changes will be applied into the cabin too where we will now see some special trim and sports seats, amongst others. The most important part of the model will be found under its hood, where the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine is resting. The total output produced stands at 300 HP (224 kW), mated to a dual clutch transmission. Power will be sent to the all-wheel drive system. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint will take 5 seconds and top speed will be 250 km/h (155 mph). Three-door and five-door body styles are considered.
