After Seat received good reaction after in was unveiled in China on two occasions, the company has shipped the cars to the country and is ready to start selling, beginning March 22nd 2012.
Seat brand was premiered in China in April 2011 at the Shanghai Auto Show, and four months later Seat Leon was on the list of Chinese official environment website.
Leon will go on sale first at the price of 250,000rmb to 300,000rmb and Ibiza will come second. The car is expensive, but take into consideration the fact that it is an imported car from VW group, so it cannot be reasonable.
Under the hood, Leon’s options include a 2.0 liter TSI engine with a 6-speed DSG gearbox and a 1.8 liter TSI engine with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, just like the Passat and Passat CC. The Seat Leon hatchback is expected to be listed in China at the end of this month, the first shipload of Leons being already in the Tianjin port. The design is passionate, dynamic, and fashionable, exactly what the young buyers want.
No information has been given on whether VW have set up Seat dealerships yet or if the car will be sold via imported VW dealerships.
