This is now the company’s most powerful Leon ever produced – as the beating mechanical heart under the hood displays a total of 300 horsepower.
The refreshed Leon Cupra is being treated to an additional roster of 10 horsepower for a total of 300 hp (224 kW), and the absolute novelty is the fact that its practical and sporty ST wagon version will be offered in a road-hugging all-wheel drive and dual-clutch gearbox setup. The engineers over at Seat also enhanced the torque, with the 2.0 TSI packing a great 380 Newton-meters (280 pound-feet) – up 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) compared to the outgoing version. There are of course barely noticeable stylistic modifications on the outside – keeping in line with the restrained design of the regular versions of the Leon. There are no images with the interior out yet, but the company has said it will grant the same new eight-inch infotainment system and support for wireless charging as seen in the lesser versions.
Safety wise, the 2017 SEAT Leon Cupra will be up to spec: Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Pedestrian Protection, and Adaptive Cruise Control, among others, while comfort perks include an electric parking brake and keyless entry with push button start. Among the standard amenities we can also mention the adaptive chassis control (DCC) and progressive steering system, as well as an electronic self-locking differential.
