Although the Seat Leon is already out on the market and we know its design, the testers of the Cupra version opted for a heavy disguise designed to hide the design cues of the sporty version.
The Cupra version of the still-new Seat Leon has now been photographed by our spy photographers while testing on the challenging Nürburgring race circuit. Insiders expect the car to be powered by a 268-hp 2.0-litre turbo engine. It will be available with 3 or 5 doors and will feature, as usual, a front wheel drive setup.
In due time, of course, the “standard” Cupra might be topped by the even more powerful Cupra R, rumoured to be the power machine of the Spanish brand and made to fight against even the Golf R, Mercedes A45 AMG and Audi S3. Insiders state the car might be powered by a 300-hp engine and might feature all-wheel drive as well as a DSG transmission.
