A new version of the Seat Leon ST, the Cupra, has been recently spotted out while it was being tested in Germany, near the Nurburgring facility.
The Spanish based automaker Seat may be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Ibiza these days and also the 5 million Ibizas produced over these three decades, but the development of new vehicles hasn’t stopped, despite the 2014 Paris Motor Show will be opening its gates for the media tomorrow, the 2nd of October, 2014. The newest model to join the lineup is a Seat Leon ST Cupra and this has been caught on camera by our spy photographers while it was being tested.
The vehicle in question is not believed to be the range topper as this will be overtaken by the more powerful Cupra R variant, which should be introduced in both Cupra hatch and ST. This will be aimed towards the Golf R, the S3 or the A45 AMG and it is believed to get a 300 HP engine under its hood, a DSG transmission and all-wheel drive. The model pictured below, the Leon ST Cupra, will come with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit, rated at 268 HP and with all-wheel drive. The vehicle will be introduced over the next few months.
