The Spanish based automaker Seat has recently announced its plans to offer the new Leon ST in a four-wheel, right-hand drive configuration in markets like the United Kingdom.
The announcement has been made by the company’s R&D chief, Mathias Rabe, who has recently spoken to Autocar, during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. According to the brand’s official, the new Seat Leon ST will be officially presented to the public during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September, and the model will become available to its future customers in a four-wheel, right-hand drive configuration.
Matthias Rabe says that this will only become available, at first, for the ST version, and this will borrow the four-wheel drive system from the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf 7, the 4MOTION, once it will go on sale in the United Kingdom, by the end of 2013. The brand new Seat Leon Cupra will also be unveiled later on this year, and this is rumored to get a 261 HP (195 kW) 2.0L turbocharged unit, coming in two body styles, with three and five doors. Additional details on the Seat Leon ST will be announced close to its debut.
