The Seat SUV test mule pictured below has been recently spotted on the open road, where it was being tested out.
The development of a Seat SUV is no longer a surprise for anyone closely reading the automotive news as this has been rumored for quite a few years but only recently it has materialized. The vehicle pictured below has been caught on camera by our spy photographers and it is at the beginning of its life as a test mule. Rumors are suggesting that the final production version of the model will be arriving sometimes in 2016 but we will get to see it, in concept form, next year, in March, during the Geneva Motor Show.
The new Seat SUV, in its production variant, will be similar in size to the Nissan Qashqai and it will be inspired by the Leon FR hatchback. For a more rugged appearance, the model will get the plastic body cladding, the silver roof rails, the LED headlights similar to the ones of the Leon and several other tweaks. As far as the engine lineup goes, this will probably include the same units which are found on the C-segment hatchback. It’s not sure for the moment whether AWD will become available for the model but this will be riding on the MQB platform, so this will not be such a big challenge.
