Kia has introduced the second Soul generation to the United Kingdom as the model has went on sale from 12,600 GBP.
The new Kia Soul generation has retained its boxy design and it’s now available in five trim grades, the Start, Connect, Connect Plus, Mixx and Maxx. Standard equipment found on the model include the USB, AUX, six airbags, air conditioning, keyless entry, electrically adjustable side mirrors, four electric windows, multi-function steering wheel, Flex Steer variable power assisted steering, tire pressure monitoring system and DAB radio, amongst others.
Engine options include the 126 HP and 260 Nm of torque 1.6 liter turbo diesel and the 1.6 liter petrol with 130 HP and 161 Nm of torque. The diesel burner can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 10.8 seconds with the six-speed manual transmission and it can reach a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h), while returning 56.5 mpg UK and emitting 132 g/km of CO2. With the automatic transmission, the figures are 11.8s, 110 mph, 47.1 mpg UK and 158 g/km. The petrol burner with the manual transmission returns 41.5 mpg UK and it emits 158 g/km of CO2, being able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 10.6 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h).
