The very first image with the newest Fiat 500-based vehicle, the 500XL, has recently ended up on the web, revealing its exterior design.
The Fiat 500XL is based on the regular 500L and it’s actually the seven-seat version of the model. The vehicle will be 200 mm longer (7.9 inches) than the 500L, and this will result into a more spacious cabin and enough room to fit the third row of seats. The Fiat 500XL is expected to be one of the last versions to be based on the popular 500, and the model should be launched over the following weeks.
Power to the Fiat 500XL is expected to be provided by the 0.0 liter TwinAir Turbo gasoline engine, which is producing a total output of 105 HP (74 kW) and 145 Nm of torque (107 lb-ft). Diesel lovers will be able to order the 1.6 liter MultiJet II Turbo, with its 105 HP and 320 Nm of torque (236 lb-ft), along with the 1.3 liter MultiJet. The 1.4 liter gasoline is also expected to make its way onto the lineup. The Fiat 500XL should enter production in Kragujevac, Serbia, in May, and first deliveries should start in mid-July.
