The very first images with the Toyota FT-86 Open Concept with its roof up have recently hit the web.
After it was officially presented to the public back in March, in a world premiere, during the 2013 Paris Motor Show, the brand new Toyota FT-86 Open Concept is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of some new images which are showing the model with its roof up. The Toyota FT-86 Open Concept is getting a multi-layer fabric roof, with an integrated glass rear window, and it will be eventually transformed into a production version.
The concept car is coming in a 2+2 seating format and it’s sharing the same platform and engine with the regular version, the Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S, or with the Subaru BRZ. The engine found under its hood is the 2.0 liter boxer unit, made by Subaru and fitted with Toyota’s D-4D direct injection system, which is good for 200 HP (147 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque. The unit will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard, or to a six-speed automatic offered as an option.
