SEMA-bound Chevrolet Traverse SUP Concept reminds us of summer image

While it doesn’t stand out as much visually like other concepts bound for the SEMA show in Las Vegas, the 2018 Traverse SUP concept does have the potential to be the most usable of them all.

The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse can easily accommodate eight people, and now it seems there’s a prototype that can accommodate those with a fix on paddle boarding. The Traverse SUP concept has been designed to promote the amenities needed to cater for both family-hauling and paddle boarding needs. Aside from the blue decals there’s no SEMA-flavored aerodynamic body kit, and instead the prototype carries atop the new Chevrolet Accessories Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier by Thule and a Riviera Paddlesurf paddle board. The new paddle board carrier is the reason the SUP exists, and it will be a real accessory customers will gain access to purchase with their Traverse.

The concept’s bespoke elements include “Blue Wave” bodyside graphics, some yellow stripes, gloss black bodyside moldings and fog lamp bezels, along with privacy tinted windows. The Traverse SUP concept also gets a raft of other available Chevrolet Accessories: blacked out 20-inch wheels, grille inserts, and bowtie emblems, along with Traverse-embroidered headrests, black all-weather floor mats, illuminated front door sill plates, and a black cargo liner for the cabin.
