SEMA: Chevrolet goes military with Silverado Special Ops image

If you need a new truck to hit the Counter Strike tournaments than you’re in luck as the mass-market brand of GM, Chevrolet, has just introduced at SEMA the Silverado Special Ops concept.

The brand has not been catering in earnest for the active community of FPS tournaments – though if the model were to get a wide release they could also become target audience, with the Silverado Special Ops concept designed as a bespoke rescue vehicle for special-operations forces. The bowtie brand has decided to pack the venue at SEMA with numerous one-offs and Las Vegas has these days besides the Silverado Special Ops also the Colorado Z71 Trail Boss 3.0,turbocharged ’67 Nova, Camaro SS & Red Line Series, Trax Red Line Series, Malibu Red Line Series and Spark RS concepts, among others.

Back to our “Army guy”, the Special Ops concept has been developed starting from a regular 2016 Silverado 1500 Z71, using now a Razzle Dazzle naval-inspired camo exterior, a new front altogether and an interesting light bar with 6-inch LED light strips. We can also note the black grille inserts and new wheel flares, with the bowtie elements blacked out and new rocker guards custom designed for the one-off. We also have off-road grade tires wrapped in 20-inch alloys a GearOn utility rack storage system and some upgrades throughout the cabin as well. We can see there waterproof seat covers and floor liners, Ejector Orange glove box handle and a Razzle Dazzle scheme for the interior to combine with the exterior. Chevrolet Performance has also contributed with an air intake and exhaust kit as well as a new brake package.
