SEMA: Chevrolet releases pair of Silverados to celebrate American way image

The mass-market Chevrolet brand enjoys a massive profit uplift from selling loads of trucks at home in the US and the company plans to keep the buyer happy and entertained – on board its Silverado pickups.

For the SEMA show taking place in Las Vegas, among the myriad of concepts with the bowtie logo we also found two that make the Silverado even more desirable – at least for particular niches of customers. First off we have the Silverado 1500 developed with input from Realtree and The Bone Collector star Michael Waddell – called the Realtree Bone Collector concept, the one off has transformed the base Silverado 1500 High Country crew cab with a black paint job with Realtree Bone Collector graphics and camouflage-inspired accents. It also gets an LED light bar, a cooler and unique drawer system in the bed that caters for outdoor aficionados. We also get a Chevrolet Accessories off-road package, 22 inch black aluminum wheels wrapped in off-road tires and a high-performance braking system. Under the hood sits tightly a 6.2-liter V8 powerplant securing 420 bhp and 460 lb-ft of torque, mated to a four-wheel drive system via the ubiquitous automatic transmission.

Next up we have the Kid Rock customized 2016 Silverado 3500 HD that wants to “celebrate freedom and honor American workers.” Be sure it will draw the crowds near, featuring a massive chrome grille with “Born Free” lettering and huge Chevrolet bowtie emblem in black. We can also see some patriotic, awe inspiring graphics, rocket-large chrome exhaust stacks and custom 22-inch chrome wheels that look utterly tiny compared to the ensemble. The truck also comes nicely fitted with a trailer towing two Gibbs Sports Quadskis that morph from all-terrain vehicles into personal watercrafts. Muscle comes from the 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine mated to an Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission and the necessary our-wheel drive system.
