Porsche has managed a great boost to its customer deliveries, with figures between January and September 2013 standing at nearly 120,000 vehicles sold, which translates to an increase of 14.7% in comparison to the same period last year.
The 911 sports car – the traditional nameplate of the brand – was responsible for much of September’s growth: 2,000 customers took delivery worldwide. Porsche delivered 13,000 units in total during the month.
“We once again exceeded our expectations for deliveries in September. We are now in the final stretch of 2013”, says Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “The vehicles presented to date are being launched in the individual markets, and the Macan model that we are showcasing at the trade fair in L. A. represents the next highlight.”
With over 3,000 new deliveries, Porsche grew its American deliveries by 13%. For the January to September period, the sports car manufacturer has already sold more than 31,500 new cars on its largest single market – a growth of more than a quarter compared with the same period in 2012.
Globally, it was the Cayenne sport utility model that once again became September’s best-seller: 6,895 have been delivered worldwide. With more than 2,300 cars delivered, sales of the Boxster and Cayman mid-engine models have almost doubled since September 2012.
