Shanghai – Ferrari reveals bespoke California T image

The 2015 Auto Shanghai motor show in China has apparently inspired Ferrari to dream about “Hollywood”-style stars: namely Ingrid Bergman and the Kennedy family.

The Italian supercar manufacturer, which is about to go independent and shed its historic ties with the Fiat parent – now also reshaped as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles – has brought to Shanghai a tailor-made Ferrari California T model. The version was apparently created to showcase the brand’s “Tailor Made” program and its endless possibilities when it comes to bespoke customization. The car has been particularly inspired by the actress Ingrid Bergman, because of her “natural beauty and effortless chic”, as well as the Kennedy family – namely the graceful Jacqueline Kennedy. The paint job has been called “Grigio Ingrid” – with the actress choosing a shade of grey for Ferrari 375 MM received from Roberto Rossellini back in 1954. While the exterior looks understated, the interior has reddish brown, velvety “count prestige” leather, in a tribute to Jean Marie Massaud’s luxury Kennedee chair – influenced by the style of America’s “former first family”, the Kennedys.

As far as technical details are concerned, the bespoke California T has been left untouched, featuring the new V8 3.8-liter turbocharged engine that churns out 560 HP (412 kW) and 556 lb-ft (755 Nm). That’s enough to get to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and then reach a maximum speed of 196 mph (316 km/h).
