Mercedes-Benz has brought the brand new GLA Concept to the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, where the small SUV has been unveiled in a world premiere.
The newest concept car in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup is named the GLA and it was recently unveiled in China. The model is previewing a production SUV which will become a direct rival for the BMW X1 and for the Audi Q3, but judging by its exterior design and by its cabin, and if the carmaker will follow the same line as it did with the new A-Class or with the CLA, the competition will remain way behind probably in every test.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept stands on 20-inch wheels, wrapped in 255/45 tires, and it has a large roof spoiler, twin-pipe exhaust, aluminum and leather in the cabin, individual seats, multi-layer layout for the instrument panel and more. the GLA is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, borrowed from the new A-Class generation, which is good for 211 HP (155 kW), mated to a 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. Power is being sent to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept is expected to make its European debut during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September.
