The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently unveiled the estate version of the Lavida, during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show.
After being teased for the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, the brand new Volkswagen Gran Lavida, which is the estate variant of the car, is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker officially pulling the wraps off its body during the Chinese automotive event. The Volkswagen Gran Lavida will only become available on the Chinese auto market and the model will be made by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture.
The Volkswagen Gran Lavida has the same wheelbase length as the sedan but its overall length has gone down to 4,454 mm from 4,605 mm. The car is riding on the PQ34 platform and it will enter the lower-end segment once it will reach the production line in June. As for the engine lineup, the same units from the Sedan will be used, and this includes the 130 BHP (97 kW) 1.4 liter turbocharged and the 104 BHP (77 kW) 1.6 liter unit. Additional details on the Volkswagen Gran Lavida are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its launch.
