Volkswagen has brought the iBeetle to the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, in a premiere, which is adding some interesting features to the model.
After showing us concept cars like the CrossBlue Coupe or the 4Fun, the German based automaker Volkswagen has also brought a production car to the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, which is based on the Beetle. The model in question is named the iBeetle and, just like its name suggests, is the “first car in the world to have a genuine interactive interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple”.
“The newly designed docking station is located centrally on the dashboard of the Beetle: the iPhone simply snaps in to integrate it with the car. Essentially, all iPhone functions can be used in the Beetle; the iPhone can be used to navigate, make calls hands-free, listen to music, and much more”, as the automaker says.
The Volkswagen iBeetle will become available to its future customers in both body styles, coupe and convertible, and the model will stand out from a crowd thanks to its Galvano Grey 18-inch Disc alloy wheels with chrome wheel covers, and the same hue applied onto the side trim panels and side mirror housings. The iBeetle badge can be found on the front fender. The model will hit the market in early 2014.
