The German based automaker’s Chinese joint venture, Shanghai Volkswagen, has recently announced its sales figures for August 2012, which have increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same month of 2011.
According to the car manufacturer, Shanghai Volkswagen has managed to sell not less than 105,000 cars in August this year and the most important vehicles out of the lineup to search for the most customers are the Volkswagen badged ones, including the new generation of the Lavida, which has made its way onto the market on the 19th of August and it still managed to be sold in 20,239 units, bringing the total number to over 800,000 cars sold since 2008, when the model was introduced.
The Volkswagen Polo was also doing very well in increasing the company’s sales in China and 12,866 units have been sold in August, along with the 16,444 units of the new Passat generation. Next was the Tiguan midsize SUV which managed to sell 13,788 units, along with the Touran MPV which has found 3,639 new owners last month. Skoda vehicles have also seen an increase in China by 2.2 percent to a total of 18,717 units, with the Octavia being the most appreciated at 11,215 units sold.
