The Shelby American 50th Anniversary Cobra Daytona Coupe Series has been officially unveiled and the company has already started taking orders for it.
Shelby American is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary of the FIA World Championship with a limited edition of the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe. According to the company, two versions of the vehicle will be offered, one of them with a fiber glass body and the other with an aluminum body. The models will be produced using the original blueprints and measurements but they will also be upgraded in terms of safety and performance, getting features such as the tubular chassis, leaf spring suspension system and so on.
The Shelby American 50th Anniversary Cobra Daytona Coupe Series is also getting the wooden rimmed steering wheel, the special badging, the black leather interior and the modern disc brakes, amongst others. A rolling chassis will be delivered to customers and they will be able to install a 289 cubic inch engine signed by the Shelby Engine Company or have an authorized dealer do this for them. The vehicles will be anything but cheap because the fiberglass variant will cost no less than 179,995 USD and for the aluminum version, customers will be set back by 349,995 USD. Shelby American says that production will be limited to just 50 units and orders are currently accepted, so if you are interested in one, you should place a deposit to make sure you will find it in your garage in the near future.
