Sirius XM Radio is coming to Google TV image

Satellite Radio Provider that is available on many vehicles today – Sirius XM has announced that it will be offering its entire programming mix on Google TV through a new app that will allow listeners to pause live programs and play back up to five hours of content.

The new app is expected to be available for download this summer, but Reuters reports that the company did not offer a specific date.

Sirius XM intends to announce this particular deal at Google’s I/O developer conference that is happening in San Francisco today, and it will add to the growing list of Google TV partners including Netflix and Amazon.com.

Google TV is built into television models manufactured by Sony Corp , LG Electronics, as well as Vizio set-top boxes. It allows consumers to access online videos and websites on their TVs, as well as to download and play with specialized apps such as video games.

Sirius has an exclusive contract for VW and Audi vehicles from 2007 through 2012. Those brands previously offered both services.

GM, Honda and Suzuki are all major investors in XM; Sirius is not offered as options in their vehicles. Bentley and Rolls-Royce come not only with receivers but lifetime subscriptions for Sirius service as well.
XM is featured in select Harley-Davidson motorcycle models, while Sirius can be heard in several brands of recreational vehicles and boats.
